Insomnia MUD was first published sometime in late 1993. Hard to be specific, many things were blurry back then.
Two renegade players known as Vx and Mork who met on Elephant MUD, downloaded an early version of MudOS and a release of the then Nightmare Mudlib (a kind of default game to build upon) and put Insomnia up as their own game.
What started out as a bit of a joke, got quite popular over the years – at one point there was a regular player community, and many fun mudmeet’s occurred in the late 90’s.
MUD”s have gone into the past, but Insomnia has now been resurrected more as a point of Internet History than anything else right now. Meanwhile, fumbling through what we did have backed-up….here are some photos:
