Crafting materials are objects used by recipes.

Syntax:

  materials

This lists the crafting materials you are carrying, such as iron ore,
steel ingots, rough wood, seasoned wood, raw hide, and cured leather.

Raw materials usually need processing before they can be crafted into
equipment:

  iron ore   -> steel ingot
  raw hide   -> cured leather
  rough wood -> seasoned wood

Materials are consumed when you successfully craft an item.
